Marsh’s donation programme is administered centrally. Under the theme of “People and Communities at Risk”, the Company has established a multi-year partnership with eight national UK charities who provide support and services in response to a broad range of human needs.
The charities are:
Addaction
Addaction is the UK's largest drug and alcohol treatment charity. Because substance misuse affects so many different people, Addaction’s focusses on three areas: Work with adults; Work with young people and work with families.
The Bobby Moore Fund
The Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK raises money for research into bowel cancer. Bowel cancer is the third most common cancer in the UK after breast and lung cancer. Almost 100 people in this country are diagnosed with the disease every day.
Business in the Community
Business in the Community works with business to build a sustainable future for people and the planet. Its approach to responsible business provides a framework to support and challenge business to improve its performance and benefit society through four areas of expertise – community, environment, workplace and marketplace.
Friends of the Elderly
Friends of the Elderly is passionate about enhancing the quality of life of older people. It provides direct services including residential care homes, nursing homes and dementia care homes. Its day clubs, home support, home visiting, telephone befriending and grant-giving services help older people live independently at home.
Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity
GOSH raises money to enable Great Ormond Street Hospital to provide world-class care for its young patients and their families and to pioneer new treatments and cures for childhood illness. Its funds contribute to the rebuilding and refurbishment of the hospital, funding most up-to-date equipment, supporting research into, and development of, breakthrough treatments and providing accomodation and other support services for children and their families.
Kids Company
Kids Company provides practical, emotional and educational support to vulnerable inner-city children. Their services reach 14,000 children, including the most deprived and at risk whose parents are unable to care for them due to their own practical and emotional challenges. Kids Company's services and support empower children who have experienced enormous challenges to lead positive and fulfilling lives.
MIND
MIND helps people take control of their mental health. It does so by providing high-quality information and advice, and campaigning to promote and protect good mental health for everyone. MIND operates both local and national networks. Through these networks it works with around 250,000 people every year.
