The 2008 Marsh Power Forum, ‘The Changing Power Climate’, will be held at the Le Méridien Hotel, Montparnasse, Paris from 6-7 May.
The power and utilities sector is ready to make the changes that are arguably required to meet the threat of climate change. Evidence of this is the extent to which nuclear power and renewable energy are coming to the forefront of power company agendas. But the backdrop to this is high power prices and price volatility being experienced across the sector while the increasing demand for electricity from emerging economies is impacting the cost and delivery times for new hardware.
‘The Changing Power Climate’ is a forum that will consider the risk and insurance implications of these latest developments and should be a “must attend” event for power sector risk and insurance managers, finance directors and other interested parties. The provisional agenda is available here, and lists the wide ranging topics to be addressed by Marsh power industry experts and renowned external speakers.
Le Méridien Montparnasse is located in the heart of Paris's left bank. From the hotel the Saint-Germain-des-Près and Luxembourg Gardens are within easy walking distance, and the Eiffel Tower is just 10 minutes away by Metro. The Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Orsay museum, the Rodin Museum, and the Sorbonne University are also close by.
