Leader, Strategic Risk Practice

Stephen is the Head of the Strategic Risk Practice in the UK with Marsh Risk Consulting.  

His responsibilities include working with clients to ensure that their own risk management is as effective as possible, which includes identifying clients’ key risk issues to both the organisation and the strategic objectives, and then designing the most effective solution to address them.

Stephen is also responsible for a spectrum of risk management solutions which includes: Project Risk Management, Board Risk Management Training as well as Strategic Risk Solutions.

Working at board level, Stephen has designed and delivered risk management solutions to individual risk issues faced by international corporations across the globe ranging from the UK to Malaysia.

Stephen is a regular spokesperson on Enterprise Risk Management, strategic risk management and corporate risk management.

William Bruce

Principal Consultant, Marsh Risk Consulting

William is responsible for developing and delivering enterprise wide risk management assignments within Europe, the Middle East and Africa. William is also responsible for supply chain risk assessment.

William’s experience in risk includes development of frameworks for identification and assessment of operational and strategic risk for various corporate and financial services clients. Supply chain risk, as integral to enterprise-wide risk management, has been a critical focus for clients.

Projects include: strategic risk identification; supply chain risk assessments, alignment of risk management and risk transfer processes; development and implementation of project risk management guidelines; and Enterprise Risk Management framework reviews.

William’s experience in performance improvement includes an assessment of the consistency and robustness of the control environment at an investment bank; and OTC derivatives business process review. William also conducted a full scale review of the insurance and risk management needs at a major oil and gas company.

William also has expertise in corporate governance and corporate citizenship including social, ethical, environmental strategy and sustainability analysis.
