London, 13 May 2009

Marsh, the world's leading insurance broker and risk adviser, has announced the appointment of Nabil Khawaja to lead its Global Energy Practice's London-based offshore construction team. He will report to Construction Leader, Paul Nicholson.

Mr Khawaja, who joins Marsh from Benfield Corporate Risk, has more than 20 years' insurance industry experience. He has worked with major oil companies and contractors, specialising in the offshore construction market. Mr Khawaja previously worked at Marsh for several years until 2005 as part of its energy construction unit, when he took a lead role in developing its book of business.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Khawaja said: "It is great to be back at Marsh at a time when energy companies need the best risk and insurance advice as they navigate these difficult economic times. I have returned to Marsh because they have the greatest range of talent and the deepest expertise available in the market."

Andrew George, EMEA Regional Leader of Marsh's Energy Practice, commented: "It is fantastic to bring someone of Nabil's calibre back to Marsh and a great vote of confidence in our team. His experience in energy construction is vast, ensuring that he will be able to hit the ground running on our clients' behalf."
