Marsh, the world’s leading insurance broker and risk adviser, has appointed Wendie Le Vey to lead its Public Sector business in the Southern Region. Supporting Brian Shaw, UK Public Sector Practice Leader, Ms Le Vey will assume responsibility for developing Marsh’s public sector business in the Eastern, South East and Greater London administrative areas.

Marsh’s Public Sector Practice has a wide range of public sector clients in the region, including local authorities, fire and police authorities, social housing, central government and government agencies.

Ms Le Vey has been employed by Marsh since 2006 and will retain her current role of Client Service Director in the Southern Region. She has worked with the public sector for 20 years in a variety of roles at national brokers and specialises in both risk management and transactional services.

Working with Ms Le Vey on developing Marsh’s public sector business in the Southern Region are Regional Development Leader, Adrian Willmott, who has been involved with the public sector over the past five years; and Karim Shariff, who has successfully acted as a Client Executive in the area for the past two years. Client advisory support to public sector clients will continue to be provided by Marsh’s Cardiff office.

Commenting on her new role, Ms Le Vey said: “The UK public sector is facing some of the toughest challenges in recent times as a result of the recession. Budgets are being cut and funding squeezed, yet public sector organisations still need to maintain the high levels of customer service to the communities which they serve by finding more efficient delivery mechanisms.”

Using Wendie’s extensive skills and experience, we are very well-placed to provide them with expert risk management advice they need to cope with the challenges ahead.”
