Marsh, the world’s leading insurance broker and risk adviser, has appointed Martin Clark as UK Leader of its Energy Claims team. Based in London, Mr Clark will have overall responsibility for managing clients’ energy claims for risks written in the London insurance market.

Mr Clark, who has worked in the insurance industry for over 25 years, joins Marsh from Zurich Financial Services, where he ran a claims department dealing with high value energy, property and construction claims.

Welcoming Mr Clark to Marsh, Barry Jones, Head of UK Claims, said: “The energy business is high-risk and has suffered many high profile losses in recent times, which has created an extremely challenging claims environment. Martin has had extensive involvement in some of the energy sector’s largest losses over the last decade. His experience and specialist skills will help ensure that the claims of Marsh’s energy clients are resolved expeditiously and satisfactorily.”

Mr Clark added: “All businesses need to have their claims resolved as quickly as possible to get back to ‘business as usual’ and remove the loss from their bottom line. This is particularly challenging in the energy sector due to the often complex nature of the losses involved.
