“The IPO market has suffered from a prolonged period of inactivity brought on by the economic downturn,” commented Daniel Max, a Senior Vice President in the Private Equity and Mergers & Acquisitions (PEMA) Practice at Marsh. “In the first few weeks of 2010, the appetite for major deals has shown signs of growth suggesting an increased level of acquisitions this year. It is crucial that private equity professionals and deal advisers are up to speed on the latest risk, governance and legislative thinking to keep their deals on track and sustain this momentum.”
