About the survey

Marsh and Chubb in the UK have recently conducted a study into the perceptions amongst M&A lawyers of current M&A insurance solutions from the perspective of the buyer-side and seller-side. The survey also analyses which insurance solutions are used to successfully aid the completion of an M&A transaction. The electronic survey was sent out earlier in the year to the top 100 law firms in the UK based on the mergermarket league tables for European deals.

Key findings:

The survey reveals that there is a high level of recognition and familiarity with M&A insurance amongst the legal community. The results are extremely positive for our team as it highlight a good understanding and level of utilisation of the M&A insurances particularly W&I insurance. This result is a reflection that the M&A insurance market is well established and is extremely sophisticated to overcome deal breaking issues and obstacles and the market continues to innovate and develop solutions for our clients. Marsh and Chubb will be sharing the survey results with all lawyers who participated in the survey as well as those that have not participated.
